I always liked the way the Japanese language sounds. Also, towards the end of last year, I thought that after I graduate from university, an opportunity to learn a new language would become much more rare. As much as I love math, I truly embrace my passion for human literature and arts, as well as learning more about different cultures and languages other than my own. My native language is Korean and since Japanese and Korean has a similar grammatical structure and many similar sounding vocabulary, I thought that Japanese might be easy for me to pick up as well. So far, I've been super happy with the class. I love the sensei's positive energy in the morning -- it wakes me up. A challenge that I had over the past four weeks is that, I'm usually a quick learner on paper. I can write and memorize vocabulary but it is difficult for me to utilize the things I know when I speak in Japanese.
